Happy Saturday!
Thanks for your continued prayers and support. We really appreciate people standing with us in faith for our new mode of transportation!
Much Love,
We were totally overwhelmed. Thank you!
only $830 more to go!
We hope this finds you well! It’s been an exciting couple of months of ministry for us in South Africa. God has done amazing things through the mission teams that have been serving alongside us through this season.
One of our greatest needs since we’ve been married has been a vehicle. We’re excited to let you know that we think we’ve found one! Living on the side of a mountain, our needs are pretty specific. But, a friend is selling a double-cab 4×4 truck and it’s just what we’ve been looking for.
With that said, he’s dropped the price for us considerably, but we’re still about $1000 short. We really feel like this is what God has for us, and we’re standing in faith that He’ll provide.
Here are some ways you can help:
You can give online here.
Or, to give by check, please make check out to Orchard Ridge Church of the Nazarene and put Thrive Africa on the memo line. Send checks to: Orchard Ridge Church of the Nazarene, 57416 Breckenridge Drive, Washington, MI 48904. (If you choose to give by check will you shoot us an email? We’d love to be able to keep track of gifts specifically for the vehicle.)
We appreciate your prayers and support more than you know. It’s such a blessing for us knowing that our friends and family support us the way you all do. We’re so grateful. We’d love to pray for you too, so feel free to forward any prayer requests you have!
Love from Africa,
Have a blessed week,
Not only did we receive a gorgeous wedding gift from my cousin, Sarah, and her husband, Dan, this week. But, they also posted a really nice blog about Thrive. You can check it out here. We’re blessed to have such a supportive family.
We’ve been internet-less at our house for weeks, but as of yesterday, we’re back online. Whoop! And we have no plans most of this weekend, so plenty of time to get caught up on email, blog and the like.
Enjoy your weekend!
Hey Friends,
We sent out our July update earlier this week. If you’re not on our mailing list, you can view it here.
Grateful for you,
July has been a little bit of a crazy month! Here are some quick updates:
Thanks for your continued prayers! If you haven’t signed up for our monthly updates, you should! We’ll be sending out our July update this month.
Love from Africa,
Last night an explosion ripped through a stadium where people were watching the World Cup in Kampala, Uganda. An American staff member for Invisible Children was killed in the blasts.
Although we didn’t know him, our hearts are heavy today. As Americans living and working in Africa, this hit awfully close to home. Here are some of my not-very-polished thoughts of the day.
This is a reminder that tomorrow’s not promised to any of us. It makes me want to be less flippant with the moments of today.
I’m thankful for your prayers, more than you’ll ever know. I’m so incredibly grateful that I know at certain times of everyday there are people interceeding on our behalf.
No doubt that living here some days is difficult, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to live in Africa. Especially on days like today, I know without a doubt that God has us here for a reason. That when the going gets tough–and sometimes it does, that we can stand on His promises.
Thankful for Today,
